Succeeding its debut release last summer, Sol Eterno ushers us into the warmer months with SOL002, a joint project between, Sifa and Ivory, a tried and tested synergy of forces that together, emanate contagious verve and groove. After crossing each other’s career paths at Offerings Recordings, both DJ/Producers rekindled through Sifa’s record label, Depth, where Ivory released. This consanguinity of taste, style and direction serve as a perfect formula for solid musical production, an elegant flavor that striked both label bosses Hazel’s and Braunbeck’s musical palates.
Zimbabwe-born and UK-based Oluhle joins the duo and lends her robust croon to side A, driven and sustained by a catchy bassline into a climactic but well tempered flow of emotions, hues and temperatures through sound, hemming light and hawing dark harmoniously from start to finish. On the flip side of SOL002 is Igazi, bass-battered by organic tribal drums, then treated with abrasive percussion and groove-inducing claps that feel all too real to the touch until it takes a nocturnal turn and plunges into transcendental trance. A nuance musical composition, Igazi has rhythm and groove at its substratum, and a euphoric charm that takes it for the win.
